STOP&GO introduces new 1 PLUS-MINUS high-voltage device for universal vehicle use
Neuenburg am Rhein, 4 Aug 2026 – Effective immediately, STOP&GO Marten Repellent is expanding its high-voltage product range with the new 1 PLUS-MINUS device. This technical advancement of the proven 1-series model operates independently of the vehicle ground connection, directly addressing the challenges posed by modern vehicles with their increasing proportion of plastic components. Workshops and dealerships benefit from significantly simplified installation without a bonnet/hood contact switch and terminal 15 connection, while end customers receive a reliable entry-level high-voltage repellent product at an attractive price.
"While older vehicles offered sufficient metal contacts for the ground connection, the increasing proportion of plastic in modern engine compartments has made it more difficult to use earth/ground-dependent high-voltage devices. This was also a problem with the predecessor model, the STOP&GO 1 PLUS high-voltage device," explains Friedrich Winkler, Technical Director at Norbert Schaub GmbH. The new 1 PLUS-MINUS fundamentally resolves this issue: "In contrast to its predecessor, the updated model features both a positive and a negative plate. This means the marten no longer needs to touch a separate earthing/grounding point on the vehicle to receive a brief electrical impulse. It is sufficient for the animal to simultaneously touch the upper positive plate and the lower ground plate," Winkler explains.
Vehicle Type-Independent Marten Protection with Significantly Faster Installation
This technical innovation translates directly into practical benefits for workshops and dealerships: eliminating the bonnet/hood contact switch and the terminal 15 connection significantly reduces installation time. The device is simply connected via the red cable to the 12-volt on-board power supply and the black cable to a suitable earthing/grounding point. It also features a convenient on/off switch. “This simplification not only reduces the time required, but also minimizes the risk of installation errors," Winkler emphasizes. "The device is therefore universally applicable to all vehicle types – from classic combustion engines to modern electric vehicles." The absence of ultrasound further simplifies installation and makes it particularly attractive as an entry-level high-voltage repellent solution.
